Athena is a very special Hatteras. With only 2 extremely knowledgable owners over the past 30 years, she has been lovingly cared for and has been upgraded consistently since each owner purchased her. Don't let her age fool you. She looks and runs like a much newer yacht. Athena is built exceptionally well, and has an all teak interior which is no longer available. Among her most notable upgrades is her custom cockpit designed and installed by Philbrooks Boat Yard in Sydney, BC. This cockpit was an actual hull extension which also included a custom built spiral staircase leading to the aft deck as well as 300 gallons of additional fuel tankage, and a brilliantly designed port side door in addition to an aft starboard door which makes for very simple boarding . Her main engines were replaced in 1999 with twin 485 HP Detroit 6-71's, have only 800 hours, and have just been regularly serviced. A new bow thruster, a new Northern Lights Generator was also installed along with all new windows, corion counter tops, hydronic diesel heat, new carpet (Just cleaned),new davit and tender, Viking Life Raft and the list goes on and on. If you have been considering a classic well built yacht but did not want to go through the expensive and lengthy refit process, then Athena is worth your consideration.

Accommodations

The accommodations on Athena are set up to accommodate family and friends. AFter entering the salon through the aft sundeck, you may take a 4 step spiral staircase down to the large open galley. You may then proceed forward to the twin over/under bunks in the v-berth with private head and washer dryer, or turn aft toward the engine rooms and aft quarters. After traveling down the companionway in the center of the berth, the VIP stateroom is to port with the VIP head directly across. Continuing aft you will pass the entrance to the master stateroom, pass the master head and enter the large main cabin with a walk around queen size berth with enough storage and closet space to take the yacht out for the summer.
